Mother’s Day

To all mothers,

This year Mother’s Day will be different. This year we will not spoil you with a lunch out, or a dinner shared. For some Mother’s Day will still be painful because you are not with us, but for others it is painful for the reason that you are so close yet so far.

The flowers that bloom will be delivered to your door, not by my hands and the chocolates left like a calling card.  But that doesn’t mean the chocolates will taste any less sweet, or the flowers bloom less vibrant. For it is a day still celebrated.

Mother’s Day is a day of showing complete gratitude to the person who taught you values in life, how to cook, and picked you up - kissed your bruised knees when you fell. To share the unconditional love that bonds between a mother and her children.

We are so lucky that we can still call you to hear your voice, or video call you to see your face.

Just because this day cannot be celebrated the way it is used to, that doesn’t mean we cant celebrate it just the same. In fact we can use this to appreciate our mothers and grandmothers more, for it shows that when we can’t see them- to be extra great full for when we can.

Thank you to all the mothers out there for all you do everyday.

Today, I still got to make my mum her favourite cocktail and we ate food from her favourite restaurant. Even though it was different we tried to keep it as normal as possible. She even enjoyed my recommendation 😃.

That’s all for now. Hugs your mothers extra tight.

Love to all
C
