Instagram reels

 Hello my fellow book lovers,

It's no secret TikTok literally smashed through the internet bubble earlier this year. With many flocking to show one minute clips of themselves, dancing, singing, doing something funny or doing quick acting skits.  The community feel on the internet took on a whole new level. The closer interaction with audiences around the world has been very enticing, and it has showed. 

As tiktok gained in followers and viewers, Instagram felt the pinch losing watch time to the newest sensation. We live in a world where you adapt or die, and instagram has since realised that TikTok is here to stay.  With the added ability of people on TikTok now being able to host lives where their audience can watch their favourite TikTokers in a more intimate setting. Instagram was not really differentiating itself from the new app, so they adapted now allowing its creators to upload 1 minute videos of themselves in the new found 'reels' section. 

Its no secret the similarities between TikTok and reels is uncanny, you can choose your own music, timer,  add text and the one feature i absolutely love you can film with a filter on. It is the best feature, and it does help that you can import your tiktok videos to instagram reels and vice versa. 

In saying all this, instagram now heavily favours reels. with some creators growing by 10,000 followers in a month. It is official, Instagram is at war with TikTok, and its the perfect time for those of us who are trying to really grow on Instagram.
