Madison Kate the series - review

For the month of March i have delved deep into the romance genre and found the sub genre - reverse harem. I almost feel like doing this post as a 'tiktok made me do it' kind of thing, because before tiktok came around i had never heard of the wonderful author that is Tate James and her toe curling, ball bustingly good 'Madison Kate' series.

After watching a few videos on tiktok, talking about MK i was intrigued and decided to give it a go. This was also my first foray into reverse harem, and i can now officially say, there is no way i can live my life another day without reading more reverse harem books. Just wow.

Madions Kate has been framed by three disgustingly hot guys, and to make matters worse, her father couldnt give two shits and instead lets her go to prison. Fast forward nine months, and the three guys who framed her are now living in her fathers mansion, oh and the leader of the group, 'Archer', has just become her step brother. Strap your seatbelts in because this does get bumpy.

Madison Kate is an extremely troubled young woman and with Steel, Kody and Archer playing mental and physical games on her,  her love life starts to become chaotic. Throw in a someone trying to kill her and a sex crazed stalker and you have four books that will literally singe your eyelashes off.

Wow Tate James can write a sex scene, my heart was racing just about every single time i turned the page. With a complex character like MK her three morally grey kinghts in shinning armour were mirage of different complexities.

First lets start with my favourite, and the character i realllyyyyy wish had more X rated scenes. The Archer. MK first met him when she went to an illegal underground fight with her best friend Bree. The dark brooding alpha male of the group, Archer has battled many demons, being the son of the wraiths, his grandfather, Phillip D'ath running a black ops training camp, and being his older brothers punching bag. But woah, once Tate lets us in, Archer is one of the most well portrayed bad boys ever written.

Next we have Kody, the laid back, easy going best friend. Kody's character wasn't as complex but he was still a really intriguing character and balanced the group out nicely.

Finally, we have Steel. The quite closed off one. I did like Steel, because he was the first one that really let his walls down around MK, having been through his own turgid past, he carries dark secrets.

Throughout the four books we spiral further and further down into a web of destruction and deceit, until some of the most pitiful secrets are revealed.

There were a few points in the plot line i scrunched my nose up a bit at. Namely Bree, as a character she was shallow and annoying. How could you claim to be someone's best friend yet not talk to them for a whole year while they have been incarcerated and sent to Cambodia? and then when MK does come back its like life has returned back to normal with their friendship?

Aside from Bree, i loved every single bit of this book, and i was guessing right up until the end just who was involved. I can happily say this series send me down a web of Tate James books and i still haven't come up yet.

I firmly give this whole series 5⭐️ and for spiciness 4🌶

If you havent already give this series a read - trust me, it is completely worth it.
